Total Electric, Inc. has been in business since 1984, and has specialized in industrial wiring, with an emphasis on industrial controls and plant maintenance. We currently have employees permanently in six states, with our main involvement being in Kansas, Minnesota and Michigan.

Total Electric, Inc. is a member of the National Electrical Contractor's Association, and we have personnel serving at several levels. This association helps to keep us informed on new methods and technologies, employee training and regulatory issues. NECA also oversees the operations of our apprenticeship program, which trains our electrical apprentices. Each electrician, to become a full journeyman, commits to five years of classroom and on the job training. Another function of NECA and the apprenticeship program is the continuing education of our journeyman wireman. As technology constantly changes, we provide skill upgrade classes in the areas such as safety, first aid, motor controls, electrical code, transformers, data and telecom, and a variety of other classes. This is one of the ways that we continue to provide electricians that are trained in the latest technologies.

We are experienced in a wide range of electrical activities, including the normal construction work that all electrical contractors bid on. We have, on staff, several degreed electrical engineers, including one with a Kansas PE license. We have also developed expertise in several other specialty areas of the electrical field, including:

Data and Telecom systems
Fiber Optic cabling and termination
Category 6 cabling and termination
Process Instrumentation
Motor Controls design and troubleshooting
PLC Programming
Commercial Construction
Industrial Plant maintenance
High Voltage wiring
Power Generation systems

We have a comprehensive safety program, and enjoy an excellent safety record as a result of it. We recently have upgraded our safety program to include a NCMS certification. We continue to work with our customers to determine their plant safety needs and requirements, and we work diligently at enforcing those regulations with our employees. Our safety program and excellent safety record have always allowed us to qualify for industrial plant safety standards. We carry five million dollars in liability insurance and have the capability of acquiring larger amounts if needed. We have bonding levels of 3 million per project and 6 million aggregate, and again, those levels may be increased if necessary.
